Personal Health Reset: Day 5 of 30
Yesterday, I had stated that today I'd be sharing a 0-10 alternative pain scale with you. That has been taking longer to design than I had anticipated. Hopefully I'll be able to share it this weekend or early next week!
Instead, let's talk about yesterday afternoon and evening and this morning.
I felt horrible. I was so nauseous! I ordered some homeopathic nausea treatment items that were supposed to be delivered same day and they DID NOT ARRIVE within the time frame promised. They were supposed to be here by 11am yesterday. By the time 11am rolled around, the shipper was promising to deliver by 10pm. 10pm came and went with a notification that my items had been returned to the processing center. As the day progressed, I'd become increasing nauseous to the point that if I moved at all I wanted to gag. Without solutions, there was no way I'd be able to go to my day job today. My regular medications have seemed to stop working and other medications have such strong side effects that those are worse than the nausea. I spent much of yesterday evening and all night feeling quite upset--angry, hopeless, like no one cares.
I contacted the shipper's customer service and was promised that my items would still be delivered last night. That delivery did not happen.
Instead, the items were FINALLY delivered this afternoon. I have a homepathic transdermal nausea patch on my abdomen and motion sickness accupressure bands on both wrists. I also have some ginger medicated lozenges that I haven't tried yet.
I have been able to move around a bit more than yesterday without wanting to throw up, but I still don't feel great. I don't know if the improvement is just a case of a different day, different severity or if it's the wrist bands and patch. I will keep trying them for several days though, and we'll see how it goes.
I also opted to schedule an accupunctures session for next week. Over 20 years ago, I tried accupuncture when I was having extremely similar symptoms and it helped significantly. Hopefully it will help this time too. It's taken me some time to find a clinic that I trust--wish me luck! If the accupuncture session goes well, I may also schedule a specialized massage for my abdomen called Tui Na.
Next week, I also see my musculoskeletal physical therapist and my vestibular physical therapist, although I may need to cancel the later if the nausea doesn't let up. I also have an MRI mid-week to investigate my hip pain and to help determine if I'll need surgery or not.
Today, in addition to the homeopathic treatments, I have been taking all of my regular medications and supplements, but I'm lagging on my water intake. As soon as I finish writing this, I will get up and fill my water bottle and start working on drinking it!
This evening, I plan to floss again and I plan to do some of my physical therapy exercises that don't exacerbate my nausea and belly symptoms.
Today and yesterday, it has been hard to have faith that I can get myself 10% healthier. But, I'm still trying...
