Personal Health Reset: Days 6 and 7
On day 5, I mentioned that I had ordered some homeopathic items for my nausea and severe reflux. They didn't arrive until fairly late in the afternoon that day, so I didn't really get to fully evaluate anything that day.
However . . .
I am SO HAPPY that I ordered Sea Bands! These are a pair of wrist bands with a little hard bump inside each one that is meant to be positioned over a pressure point just below the wrist on the forearms.
And, they seem to WORK!
Now, I've only been using them for about 48 hours, so maybe it's premature to proclaim success. However, I have played with wearing them and not wearing them quite a bit over the past two days, and I'm satisfied!
Really, wearing these makes me feel like I've blown past my goal of feeling 10% healthier! Unfortunately, taking them off results in a slide back to severe nausea. They are quite tight, as well, and I've taken them off in my sleep! They definitely aren't very comfortable due to how snug they are, but I'll keep wearing them for the time being! Is this change actually making me 10% (or more) healthier? Mentally, yes! Physically, I don't know. Nausea has ruled my life for a month and been a featured player for almost two years! Having it under control is a huge emotional and mental weight lifted!
Please remember: my experience is just that--mine! This is NOT medical advice. I have no idea if these bands will work for you or not and you should check with your healthcare provider before using them or any other products.
The Sea Bands haven't stopped my reflux and haven't stopped my nausea entirely, but both are improved enough that I feel like a functional human being again.
Yesterday, I was able to work on a project that I've had mind for literally months, I walked my dog around the farmer's market, and I did a couple of small errands. Today, I continued on my project and was able to finish it (I sorted and bundled 30 POUNDS of craft supplies to sell--check them out, along with other items I have for sale on Poshmark HERE).
Because I took the Sea Bands off in my sleep last night, I did end up spending several hours overnight and this morning not wearing the Sea Bands (I couldn't find them, briefly!). As a result, I was pretty nauseous with some signficant reflux overnight and this morning. I ended up spending several hours trying to sleep mostly upright in my favorite chair. The lack of good quality sleep meant I started out today tired, along with my other issues.
Today, I also flossed half my mouth (read about my dental issues and flossing HERE), took a long bath (I'm usually a shower person), and drank some water.
Looking forward to this week, I see my musculoskeletal physical therapist tomorrow for my hip injury and I have an MRI for my hip two nights later. I'm also going out to dinner with a friend tomorrow (my birthday!). On Wednesday, along with my MRI, I see my vestibular physical therapist, but depending on my nausea and how my hip feels, we may need to do only the bare minimum at that appointment. I plan to keep drinking water, continue flossing more than I normally do, and will take life day by day.
You can buy Sea Bands on Amazon HERE. Please note, this may result in a small commission to me at no extra cost to you (thank you, in advance!).
